It Really Is A Miracle!

Teaching the Zone!
So here is a joke I made up at 10pm the other night while trying to go to bed: ((Please note that my hair was huge.  Remember the picture from last week? ))

 Do you like my hair? I call it my monsoon hairstyle. It's in season. hahahahahhahahahaha

 Collective adventures of this week:

Greek Monastery
1. Sister Donaldson lost her voice, so I did all of the talking;
2. We DANCED IN THE RAIN BECAUSE SOMETIMES IT ACTUALLY DOES THAT HERE;
3.       Had MY FIRST BAPTISM IN THE MISSION FIELD;
4.       Had interviews with the mission president (always fun);

5.       Went to a Greek monastery for pday;

6.       Ate about a quarter of a GIANT apple fritter (best lunch ever);
7.       Got myself maybe signed up as a narrator for our Christmas concert (YAYAYAYYAYAY CHRISTMAS);

8.       Also, our zone leaders pranked us.

It's as big as my HEAD!
We taught the law of chastity three times this week. We taught it to a 9-year-old boy (head, shoulders, knees, and toes spells it out pretty simply), a 17-year-old girl (and her member boyfriend and her boyfriend's mom), one rather distracted 15-year-old girl (who at the beginning of the lesson said "oh yeah I used that the other day." Uh....ok. Let’s talk. Maybe to the Bishop? "NoNoNo I mean I KEPT it the other day." OHH ok, go, team, we’re proud. I've never laughed so hard in a lesson) and to a 20-year-old girl. We're basically pro's.

  Now to the spiritually important things.

Remember when I told you all about the miracle baptism on the 26th? I was sitting in zone conference and had a wacky idea (from the Spirit) to pray about a date, schedule a baptism for that date, and God would fill it? And so, we did, and then we met Malia, and she was a miracle who'd been investigating the church on her own for a year before she decided to ask to be taught by us missionaries. Wednesdays are her day off, and she was on date for the 26th-ish, and then she wasn't. Which was fine, she was still planning on being baptized in August, and we still had two and a half weeks to find our miracle baptism for the 26th. We worked and stretched and sacrificed and fasted and prayed and studied and grew and changed. And then we had a week left, and then we (I) started to waiver in our faith that we would see this miracle and then I was discouraged. I could accept the failure. It was a crazy idea anyways. I was just afraid that failing to see this miracle baptism on the 26th would mean that I still hadn't done enough. That I didn't work or stretch or sacrifice or fast or pray or study or grow or change enough. That there was still so much more to do. That I would never be able to do enough. And then I was stressed and discouraged because how could I do this. And then I prayed and kept trying and kept working and kept hoping. And then the miraculous Malia struck again. She asked in a recent lesson if the 26th was still available. She'd changed her mind, felt that the 26th was the day meant for her to be baptized. And then I exploded out of joy. I couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe that God would help change the mind of someone else to answer my pleading prayers. But He did and NOW WE ARE HAVING OUR MIRACLE BAPTISM ON THE 26TH JUST LIKE GOD SAID! JFWOFHEQNFVBFILAGUGHEWULIGFbhbvgvlBSJLBVFLABGLBROSFJBBBRG R I'M SO EXCITED!!!  Don’t get me wrong.  It’s not about me, but Malia and how God answers prayers and touches hearts!

 And now I know that I can do this. That God cares about more than just our previous failures. That He wants to bless us with specific miracles and wants to help us see success. Some days I'll doubt, but I can always come back to this experience and so many other experiences that have taught me of a God who loves.

 And more than that I have met Malia. I haven't shared much about her because of privacy and such things, but I love Malia. More on Malia another day (SINCE HER BAPTISM IS COMING UP AFTER ALL).

 Lessons have been learned, and feelings have been felt this week.

 To end, might I take a moment to say, AAAHHHHHHGGGGHGHHHHHHAAAAAA OUR MIRACLE BAPTISM IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING.  GOD IS SO GOOD!!!

 ok bye
